GRACE TO FORGIVE
PSALM 130:3-4, PSALM 103: 8-12, MATHEW 6:14-15
Forgiveness is the greatest gift God has always extended graciously to humanity.
Psalm 32:1
1. Blessed is the one
whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.
Forgiveness reconciles us with our God and brings forth joy and fulfilment in our daily walk with our Creator. In the Lord's prayer there's a part that highlights on Forgiveness, many at times we want to be forgiven and we still hold on to grudges for people who have offended us. Believers should always endeavour to extend the same mercy to others who have offended us.
The story of Joseph is perfect example in the Bible that has deep profound lessons. The most outstanding is the grace of Forgiveness Joseph extended to the brothers even when he was in a position to revenge.
Romans 12:19-20
[19] Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.
[20] On the contrary:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”
Brethren the word of God is so powerful that all we need to do is obey because God will always have our best interest at heart.
Romans 12:21
[21] Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Endeavour to do good always.
