Looking back into the year 2020, we can only thank God who has been faithful to bring us this far. Last year has been a year like none other. We are coming from a time where everything was somehow going to a standing still. Where people were cut from social life, religious gatherings, economical stand-still and many other events that almost paralyzed operations. We thank God who was with us and has brought us this far and given us hopes to continue on. Thus far, He is indeed our Ebenezer.

Amidst the challenges mentioned above, we thank God for what has happened in the year 2020 particularly in LUC family. Christians faithfully made efforts first, to guard their faith and keep it beyond all odds. Secondly, members gave to support God’s work even when we couldn’t gather in Church. The „Grand journey of faith project‟ (the new sanctuary) began and just as soon as this started, the Corona pandemic knocked in and made everything to go at a stand-still.

This year again will be a remarkable year because we anticipate to do so much in terms of constructing the new sanctuary. The best part of the program of raising resources is projected to be done over this year 2021. So we pray for more grace to enable us to continue doing the good work. Of course the Covid menace is still with us but we are trusting God that over the year, the Covid-19 vaccine will come soon so that we are set free to do businesses and move freely. For many of us following what we have gone through last year, life will never be the same again. The best of it all is that God is with us. God still sits on the throne; we pray that nothing goes wrong.
So much has come to us that would have made us deny God’s name this season but we have not done that. We have made all efforts to keep the faith. Even when we could not meet to share the word of God physically. We have kept going on. A test of our faith has been done.

It is from this understanding that God is speaking to us from Revelation 3:7-8 through the message to the church in Philadelphia. These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. And so the Lord is speaking to us this year under the THEME: “A season of open doors.”

In view of this THEME, we look forward for a special period of our lives where God will open doors which no other can close, not even Covid-19. May God therefore open very special doors in our lives this year 2021. Doors that no one would close at all. He surely makes a way where there is none. He gives hope to the hopeless. He provides the streams of water in the wilderness. May 2021 be a year of great “breakthroughs”. May He give us new energies to continue the work ahead of us. God’s voice is very clear to us this year.
Welcome on board. Let us walk together and tap every blessing that comes from God our father. He has great things in store for us.
