SOCIAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT

The Social Services Outreach Programme is the church mission to the old, less privileged, the poor, widows and orphans.

All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I had been eager to do all along. Galatians 2:10 (NIV)

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look afterorphans and widowsin their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27(NIV)

The Social Services Outreach Programme has several projects like Adopt a Granny (to cater for needy people aged 65 years and above), Urafiki Child Development Centre (for children aged 3-22 years) Gatina United Dispensary and Education Sponsorship Programme. Other projects like Adult Education Classes, House Keeping (for house helps) will come on board when resources become available.

The Department is striving towards self-reliance of beneficiaries and breakaway from dependency syndrome. The offices are relocated to Gatina. It seeks to extend Christ's loving hand to the slum areas adjacent to the Lavington suburb. These include Gatina, Kamitha, and Kawangware. People in these slums struggle to obtain the very basic needs e.g. clothing and shelter. For such persons, education and medical care are often simply out of reach.
