Four Main Events Celebrated in Lavington United Church
1. Harvest Sunday [1st Sun of April]
It is a time to acknowledge our utter dependence on God as we declare that all that we are and all that we have belongs to God. We acknowledge God as sovereign, the controller of the universe and the provider of all blessings. In acknowledgement, the congregation gives over and above the normal giving in support of God's work.

2. Church Anniversary [June]

The doors of LUC were opened in 1960. It is a tradition of this church to mark that event annually by holding a combined celebration service. It is a time to thank God for his faithfulness.

3. Confirmation Sunday

This is a day the three sponsoring Mainstream churches - MCK, ACK and PCEA Heads come to witness and confirm the new members of Lavington United Church. The confirmees undergo a mandatory class of several weeks to enable them graduate to full church membership.

4. Thanksgiving Sunday [December]

As a congregation, we have dedicated the 1st Sunday of December for our annual thanksgiving. At our three services, congregants are given an opportunity to share testimonies of God's faithfulness. People also come to the altar to present their gifts as a sign of gratitude to God. The congregation gives over and above the normal giving in support of God's work.
