The Power of a Prayerful Man
Daniel was one of three leaders directly under Cyrus, he outshined the other two because he had an excellent spirit and this was the beginning of his problem that led to his death sentence through the hungry lions.
It is also interesting that this event happened to be the door of their release from the Babylonian exile which lasted 70 years.
The Necessity of Praying Men
In our passage today we reflect on the event that took place in Philippi where Paul and Silas were put in prison for freeing a young girl from demonic oppression. What resulted from their imprisonment was salvation and conversion of souls to the Christian faith. Today we will stick to the topic “the necessity for praying men”.
Challenges in Missions
When God send He chooses ordinary human beings with ordinary challenges to accomplish extraordinary things. God in His wisdom has opted to partner with human beings as He puts His treasure in jars of clay. This strategy is fraught with many risks, chief among them human frailties. Some of the challenges to missions are as follows:-
Where God Sends
1. Where God sends He predestined. In Eph 2: 10, the Bible says “we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do”. This verse is very interesting. It offers a peek into the divine order of God's calling and sending.
A Missionary in his own House
The story of Dorcas reminds me of an interesting quote from Cherokee proverbs which goes like this “When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice.” This calls us to the reasons for our existence, we are created to be missionaries by our ways of life.
